OHPC has taken initiatives to develop Thermal, Hydro, Renewable Power projects on its own and through joint ventures and Subsidiary. DPR is under preparation for construction of Pumped Storage Scheme at Upper Indravati, Mukhiguda. The information on Subsidiary and JV companies along with details of partners of joint ventures along with present status is given below:

Project Under Execution
10MW Mandira Small Hydro Project, Sundargarh to be developed under JV mode with SAIL
  • The project is developed under JV mode. (JV in between GEDCOL & SAIL named as GEDCOL SAIL Power Corporation Ltd.)
  • Letter of Award for execution of 10 MW Mandira SHEP along with O & M for 5 years thereafter was issued contract agreement was executed with M/s HIPL- RSVCPL (JV).
  • A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed between GEDCOL SAIL Power Corporation Limited (GSPCL) and Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) on 24.12.2025.
  • The work is under progress at Mandira site and to be commissioned in the FY-2027-28.
Solar Projects Under Pipeline
10 MW Ground mounted Solar Project at Chipilima, Sambalpur.
  • An EPC Bidder has been selected through GeM portal for Design, Engineering, Procurement & Supply, Construction, Commissioning and comprehensive O&M for ten (10) years of this project.
  • Land survey and soil test work has been completed.
29MW Ground Mounted Solar PV Project at Boudh District
  • Lease Agreement for 261.52 Acres of land in village Kadambapal, Junani, Ghulughulapadar in the district Boudh signed between IDCO & GEDCOL.
  • In 14th SWC meeting, the 29 MW Solar Project along with BESS of capacity 6 MW (4 Hr) /24 MWh at Junani, Ghulughulapadar in Boudh district has been approved.
  • Work Order issued to M/s GERMI for preparation of Tender Document along with assistance in finalisation of Bid.
  • Tender document is under preparation.
5.15MW Ground Mounted Solar PV Project with 2.4MWh BESS at Balimela near Balimela Power House of Malkangiri district
  • In 14th SWC meeting, the 5.15 MW Solar Project along with BESS of capacity 0.6 MW (4 Hr) /2.4 MWh has been approved.
  • Work Order issued to M/s GERMI for preparation of Tender Document along with assistance in finalisation of Bid.
  • Tender document is under preparation.
300MW Floating Solar Project in Rengali Reservoir
  • It was decided the project to be developed by GEDCOL.
  • GEDCOL requested NHPC for in principle consent to cancel the MOU & Promoters Agreement executed between NHPC & GEDCOL.
  • NHPC has accorded its consent for cancellation of MoU and Promoters Agreement.
  • GEDCOL requested Govt. of Odisha for cancellation of MoU and Promoters Agreement and allotment of 300 MW Floating Solar Project in favour of GEDCOL.
Small Hydro Electric Project Under Pipeline
03MW Kanupur Small Hydro Project, Keonjhar
  • The revised DPR of installed capacity 03 MW has been prepared by GEDCOL based on the design discharge of Kanupur Main Canal i.e. 35.05.
  • Chief Construction Engineer, Kanupur Irrigation Project approved the Project Layout.
  • In principle approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been received from Dept. of Water Resources (DoWR) on 05.12.2025.
  • IIT, Roorkee vetted the revised DPR with minor modification of project cost from Rs.34.96 Cr. to Rs.35.47 Cr. and Design Energy from 12.30 MU to 11.60 MW and recommended that the 03 MW Small Hydro Electric Project may be accepted.
  • The levelized tariff is Rs.5.19/kWh.
  • The Techno-economic review report of DPR of 2 X 1.5 MW Kanupur SHEP by IIT, Roorkee forwarded to EIC (Elecy)-cum-PCEI, Govt. of Odisha for placing it before SLFC for Single Window Clearance.
2.4MW Jambhira Small Hydro Project, Mayurbhanj
  • Installation of Y-Piece and control valve along with bulk head of Jambhira SHEP has been completed by Department of Water Resources, Govt. of Odisha.
  • Ichha Dam is being constructed to store Odisha’s share of water for providing rabi irrigation in Subarnarekha command area of Odisha.
  • However, there will be no issue in functioning of SHEP during Khariff water supply.
  • Accordingly, the DPR prepared earlier is to be revised and updated based on present availability of water.
  • After preparation of revised DPR and approval thereof from EIC (Elecy)-cum-PCEI the project construction work will start.
1.2MW Telengiri Dam Toe SHEP in Koraput District
  • WAPCOS submitted the Draft DPR which is under scrutiny.
  • General Layout of the project has been submitted to Chief Construction Engineer, DoWR, Upper Kolab Project, Bariniput for their approval and Draft DPR submitted to EIC (Planning & Design), DoWR, BBSR for their considered views and comments.
  • GEDCOL team visited site and discussed with CCE, Telengiri for approval of project layout.
  • GEDCOL requested Chief Engineer, Dam Safety Division to accord in principle clearance for implementation of the said project.
  • Chief Engineer, Planning, Dept. of Water Resources, Govt. of Odisha requested the Chief Engineer & Basin Manager, Indravati and Kolab Basin, Bariniput to submit views on the DPR of 1.2 MW (2 X 0.6 MW) Telengiri Dam Toe SHEP at the earliest for further necessary action.
